Jury Award Winners

We were once again joined by the fantastic Studio Gobo who awarded the Jury Award. After playtesting all 13 games, the expert game developers chose their winner for the jury award. This year, we don't have a single winner, but a 4-way-tie:

After the presentations of all games, the audience in the room and the viewers of the youtube livestream got to choose their favorite game. Since the scores are very close, we announce not only the winner of the audience award but also two runner-ups:

DustOff is a fast-paced spell-fighting game for up to four players. Everyone takes over a genie and immerses themselves in a palace that has been ravaged by a sandstorm. In this arena, players battle by collecting scattered sand and casting sand spells to disrupt their opponents. Join this top-down free-for-all battle to become the best genie cleaner and dust off the most to win your genie eternal freedom.

Eternal Sunset is an open-world co-op adventure game. Every week, everyone will be playing in the same procedurally generated world, fighting for top leaderboard spots.

As up to four aliens crashland on earth they follow some archeologists into a pyramid. By accident one of the aliens triggers a switch. Now the sand starts to rise and there is only one way out: through the item shop on top. Show off your platforming skills while you reach for the top and mess with your friends as you put obstacles in their way.

Catrine is a 3D single-player puzzle adventure game.
You play as a cat with magical sand bending powers trapped in an enchanted egyptian themed litter box for behaving nasty.
To progress through the puzzles, you have to make use of your sand attraction and blowing powers obtained by consuming catnip to activate buttons and free your way to the portal.
Will you be able to escape your enchanted prison?

"Against The Tide" is a real-time strategy game where the player can command crabs to build a sand castle and protect it against waves. Not only the water threatens the existence of the sand castle, but evil crabs are trying to destroy the crab’s newfound home. Help the crabs on their quest to build the castle of their dreams!

Hybris (from Ancient Greek húbris) refers to excessive pride or dangerous overconfidence. It was due to these traits that Atlantis, an island whose naval power besieged Athens in times long past, fell out of the Greek Gods' favour, which lead to its downfall and submergence in the Atlantic Ocean.

Hybris is a 3D city builder where the player must employ finesse and strategy to expand their budding nation, all the while taking care not to draw the wrath of the gods upon themselves and ultimately succumbing to the same fate as the Atlanteans before them.

In an exciting expedition to the bottom of the sea a submarine crew of researchers has been entrusted with the task to locate and secure a vast collection of eggs from various rare fish species the likes of which humanity has never seen before... Will the crew be able to conquer the dangers of the ocean floor in order to retrieve the eggs and bring them to the promised location? Curse of the Abyss is a two-player local co-op jump & run style platformer game with a twist: the playstyle for each of the players is asynchronous. On one hand, the player controlling the diver needs to navigate through different environments in a jump and run fashion while collecting as many eggs as possible, being attacked by multiple NPCs and having to overcome many obstacles. On the other hand, the second player has a supportive role and assists the main player from a submarine with its various different functionalities.

Sell-Fish is a single player, turn-based strategy resource management game, set in the 18th century.

You are ship-owner and British entrepreneur Dave, who got stranded in the Caribbean sea on his latest quest to gather secret Mexican sushi.

Your main task is to rebuild your ship and escape your predicament.

While doing so, you'll have to survive the dangers of the sea, from octopus attacks, rivaling crews, storms and more by building structures on your ship.

Sell-Fish lays special focus on those structures. Structures may influence each other for maximum productivity and have unique shapes, forcing the player to choose wisely on their placement.

Octodash is a two-player platformer about helping a cute little octopus to its daily crab feast. By cooperatively moving its wobbly and stretchy tentacles, you must guide our friend through the mysterious depths of the sea.

However, this is easier said than done as its favourite crabs tend to hide in deep canyons, behind massive stonewalls, or between spikey corals. At first glance, this can be overwhelming but do not be intimidated as a friendly seahorse might pass by during your journey to give you a ride.

In this fun, cooperative four-player game, teamwork and the power of friendship are the keys to success. Only by strategizing together, prioritizing and balancing resources will you be able to fulfill the snowman’s demands and finally escape. The best thing is, everyone can help the penguins. All you need to join the fight is a copy of the game, a Windows laptop and 4 Smartphones, and you can begin your battle.

Oops! I Left the Snowstorm Generator On is a survival adventure game. You must gather resources, craft tools, make new friends, brave a snowstorm (that you accidentally caused), and figure out a way to get back home to feed your mad scientist uncle's cat. Can you save the world from a disaster of your own making?
