Game Programming Laboratory 2018
The course theme for the ETH Game Programming Laboratory in 2018 was "Alfred Escher". Students worked in small teams to create new games inspired by the theme.

Derailed

Derailed is a cooperative multiplayer game. Every player has its own character walking on a map. Additionally there is a train with a beginning of a train track. The goal is to continue building the track faster than the train catches up. The track can be built by crafting track pieces using resources which can be gathered on the map (wood and iron). If the train reaches the unfinished end of the track the game is over and a highscore for the (horizontal) distance of the track is displayed. Download Read more (PDF, 4.3 MB)
The Great Escape

The Great Escape is a 2D-multiplayer platformer, where the players are supposed to escape from a dark cave within the Gotthard massiv. On their way out, the players need to solve puzzles and can collect points. That Failed Bank Robbery is a competitive local multiplayer game. Two teams of clumsy robbers inside unlikely vehicles must collect money and valuables scattered all over The Bank of Switzerland and disrupt their opponents before the police arrives after a badly timed explosion sabotaged their master plan. MBB is a 3D, single-player, strategy and management game about building a railway infrastructure on Mars. The map is a grid, with tiles of different types and heights, dotted by colonies and resources. The player has to connect cities and resources together with railways, allowing the cities to grow and develop. As the cities develop their needs change, and they can make use of different resources. The Legend of Blurp

The Legend of Blurp is a 2D puzzle platformer. The main character, Blurp, is a small slime blob with consciousness. It can split his own body, and can merge with slime puddles that lie around. The main goal of the game will be to solve the puzzles in each level and complete the Jump n’ Run challenges. Springbreak is a 2D platformer Multiplayer (PvP). Players not only have the possibility to manipulate their surroundings but also gravity. While jumping through the stage and trying to collect coins, they try to shift the physic to their advantage and reach the amount of collectibles faster than the other player.
