Artifact: Parallelen App
The Artifact: Parallelen app accompanies the art exhibiton at ETH Zürich CROSSING PARALLELS: AGOSTINO CARRACCI & HENDRICK GOLTZIUS, which took place from 9 December 2020 to 2 May 2021. The app employs augmented reality to supplement the art pieces with multimedia information such as images, videos, animations and special effects, presented to the visitor in an interactive and playful way. The exhibition is curated by Dr. Susanne Pollack, Graphische Sammlung ETH Zürich and Dr. Samuel Vitali, Kunsthistorisches Institut Florenz, Max-Planck-Institut. Learn more about the exhibition on the website.
The Artifact: Parallelen app is based on the Artifact Augmented Reality platform, which is being developed as part of a research collaboration with the external pageLGT Group and the external pageLiechtenstein Princely Collections.
How To
To experience augmented reality with the app:
1. Install the app for external pageiOS or for external pageAndroid.
2. Open the app and start the art scanner (in German "Kunstscanner").
3. In the image gallery below, open an image to full screen and point your phone's or tablet's camera at the artwork. Download the Downloadbrochure (PDF, 33.8 MB) (in German) for even more images!
